Take the stress out of marina manoeuvres

When mooring a yacht in a marina, a stronger tidal current than expected or a surprise gust of wind need not cause a row-inducing situation – especially with an audience of spectators close by. No matter how experienced we are, there’s been a time when we’ve all wished for a magic hand to pull or push our yacht closer to the berth. This is where bow and stern thrusters can jump to our aid.

Regardless of whether you have a stubborn underpowered long-keeler or a modern yacht with a shallow forefoot, we have bow thruster solutions available. We can fit tunnelled and retractable bow thrusters, and perhaps more importantly, we’ll ensure the wiring is up to the loads, and the thruster won’t die when you need it the most.

More commonly, we’re fitting stern thrusters too, not just to motor boats but to yachts as well. These help keep the aft quarters within reach of the pontoon, and combined with a bow thruster, they can offer joystick and remote-controlled berthing, enabling you to hold the yacht alongside while lines are tended.

Adding kit for serious sailing

Many owners come to us because we’ve equipped lots of yachts for world cruising and Atlantic circuits. We can increase your battery bank capacity for peace of mind, as well as for washing machines and windlasses etc, and we can fit these too. We can also install custom cockpit arches for solar panels, davits, or an outboard/MOB hoist.

With our expertise from Rustler Yachts, we can increase the size of your water and fuel tanks, refrigeration/freezer space and add a watermaker, allowing you greater independence while cruising.

If you want to sail short-handed, we can fit all types of autopilots, including windvane self-steering, from fully integrated electronic systems to a simple self-contained tiller pilot. Wherever you dream of sailing, we’ll help you get there.



Make sailing easier

Whether you dream of sailing on balmy summer afternoon zephyrs or want to tame a sail at the push of a button, we’re here to help. We can fit bowsprits for off-wind sails, and furling systems for asymmetric spinnakers and code-zero-style sails that can be launched and furled from the cockpit. We can work with your chosen sailmaker, or you can leave it to our preferred supplier; whichever you choose, we can get you sailing on days you’d previously be drifting or reaching for the engine controls.

When you need an extra helping hand, we can install an electric winch or an electric furler. These can be controlled from the wheel pedestal, or we can fit the controls wherever is convenient on your yacht. Not only can we fit electric winches, we’ll do an audit to make sure your yacht has the power on hand when you need it. If we have concerns, we’ll raise them with you before we start.
